EMQN is pleased to announce the launch of new external quality assessment (EQA) schemes for molecular genetic testing in haemato-oncology, expanding its portfolio to support laboratories that perform molecular diagnostic analysis for patients with haematological malignancies.
The new haemato-oncology EQA schemes have been designed to assess both analytical performance and clinical interpretation. Participants will receive DNA alongside clinically realistic referral information, enabling laboratories to test samples using their routine workflows and to submit clinical reports for assessment.
Initial pilot schemes will focus on three areas of molecular haemato-oncology testing: Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (JAK2/CALR/MPL), Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) (FLT3, IDH1 and NPM1) and Myeloid Neoplasm gene panel testing. All three EQAs will have annual distributions.
