A new international consensus statement on the diagnosis and management of Silver–Russell syndrome (SRS) provides updated recommendations for clinicians, building on the original 2016 guidance. The publication reflects significant advances in genomic and epigenomic understanding of SRS and emphasises the importance of robust molecular diagnosis to support personalised care pathways. The multidisciplinary recommendations address key challenges across the patient journey, including growth restriction, feeding difficulties, hypoglycaemia, body asymmetry, neurocognitive development, and long-term metabolic health. By highlighting the value of precise molecular characterisation and lifelong clinical management, this consensus statement aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, optimise patient outcomes, and support consistent standards of care for individuals with SRS and related imprinting disorders.
