Being a member of EMQN means that you are part of the largest EQA network for diagnostic molecular (genetic) testing in the world with over 1600 registered participant laboratories.
We are calling for volunteers from our membership to become more involved with EMQN by taking on the role of an EQA scheme assessor. You don't have to be an international expert to do this - we are looking for people with an excellent practical working knowledge of the type of testing covered. The participation of colleagues in this process is a fundamental part of our activities and is highly valued by EMQN. Being an EQA assessor is highly educational, and is claimable as Continued Professional Development (CPD). It brings you into a network of experts and allows you to stay abreast of new developments in your field.
We normally organise two assessment meetings a year (April - Germline EQAs, October - Somatic and technical EQAs). Participation as a scheme assessor is approximately 3-4 days annually which includes some work done remotely, along with participation at one of the annual assessment meetings. No financial contribution is made for your time but we do reimburse the costs of attending and participating in our meetings (travel, accommodation etc.). Assessors also receive an annual certificate of participation.
If you are interested in getting involved, then we would strongly encourage you to complete the online application form (link below). A download version of the EMQN scheme assessor job description is also available via the online application form.
We look forward to receiving your application.
