JOINING EMQN

Benefits of joining EMQN

The EMQN is supported financially by subscription fees. An annual fee is charged to register as a member of the network. The membership period runs from 01 January to 31 December each year. Paid members of EMQN will be reminded about payment of their annual membership fee by EMQN.

  • As a member of EMQN, you can participate in our EQA schemes and best practice meetings.
  • Registered members of EMQN will receive a username and password which will allow them to access the member-only services (such as EQA, best practice etc.).
  • Additional member-only services will also be introduced at a later date.
  • The registration fee to join the network for 2005 is 50 Euros (34.50 GBP). The first person to register from a lab SHOULD BE THE MAIN CONTACT POINT - ie., THE HEAD OF LABORATORY or QUALITY MANAGER.

Terms & Conditions of EMQN membership

  • To participate in our EQA schemes and best practice meetings, you must be a registered member of EMQN.
  • You must keep your password secure and confidential.
  • In order to use the EMQN services in the members-only area you must have email which allows receipt of attachments and have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your PC (if you do not have it, go to http://www.adobe.com/ to download a free copy).
  • Your registration will only be processed when you have completed the registration and payment forms correctly.
  • Payments cannot be processed without correct billing information. Failure to provide this information accurately may result in delays to your participation. EMQN cannot accept responsibility for you not receiving our services if we do not get the correct information.
  • Payments should be made within 14 days of receipt of an invoice from EMQN (invoices will be sent by our host institution, Central Manchester and Manchester Children's NHS Trust). After this date we the host institution will send a reminder to you to pay but EMQN reserves the right to withdraw services after an appropriate time limit.
  • Payment by invoice is the only-option. Personal cheques will NOT be accepted.

Information you need BEFORE registering

The first person to register with EMQN for a lab MUST BE THE MAIN CONTACT PERSON (ie., head of lab, quality manager etc). It is your responsibility to provide EMQN with up to date infomation when registering with the network. Failure to do so may result in delays when processing your requests. You need the following information to hand before registering with EMQN:

  • Your up to date contact details including a valid email address.
  • An address for delivery of EQA samples. Please note that YOU MUST NOT USE A PO BOX NUMBER FOR DELIVERIES. All our deliveries are made by overnight courier and they will not deliver to a PO Box. Failure to provide an alternative delivery address may result in you EQA samples being delayed or not sent at all!
  • A contact person and address for billing information.
  • A VAT number for your institution (if it has one).
  • A purchase order number (if you have one).
